Ingredients list for Dahi Waala Meat

  • 1 kilogram Mutton on the bone
  • 700 grams Thick yoghurt (dahi)
  • 2 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 2-4 packets Green cardamoms
  • Black cardamom powder
  • 2-3 Bay leaves
  • 2 medium bunches Ginger grated
  • 2 tablespoons Red chilli powder
  • to Sage

Method

  1. Dry roast whole dried spices in a non-stick wok till fragrant. Cool and grind to a fine powder.
  2. Put yogurt in a bowl, add mutton, ground powder, ginger and garlic, add some of the garam masala powder, red chilli powder and salt. Keep in the refrigerator for half an hour.
  3. Place this in a pan on high heat till the water separates (around 15 minutes). Cover and cook on low heat for 30 minutes. Add tomatoes and cook for another 30 minutes till mutton is done.
  4. Add remaining garam masala and fresh coriander and mix well.
  5. Serve hot.
