Drumstick Pickle A hot and spicy pickle made with drumstick. By Sanjeev Kapoor 09 May 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Drumstick Pickle Main Ingredients Drumsticks, Sesame oil (til oil) Cuisine Indian Course Pickles, Jams and Chutneys Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Tangy Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients 1 kilogram drumsticks cut into 1 ½ inch long pieces 1 cup sesame oil (til oil) 1 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds (methi dana) 1 teaspoon asafoetida 1/2 cup garlic, chopped 10 dried red chillies 1/4 cup tamarind pulp 2 teaspoons turmeric powder 1/4 cup salt 3/4 cup red chilli powder Method Heat two tablespoons of sesame oil in a non-stick pan. Add drumstick pieces, stir, cover and cook low heat for five to seven minutes stirring in between. Remove the drumstick pieces. Heat the remaining sesame oil in the same pan. Add mustard seeds, fenugreek seeds, asafoetida, garlic, red chillies, tamarind pulp, turmeric powder and salt, mix well and sauté for a couple of minutes. Add drumsticks and red chilli powder and cook till it thickens. Cool and store it in a dry glass jar.
