Pulao Khichdi Khichdi with a twist This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 12 Jun 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Rice, Split green gram skinless (dhuli moong dal) Cuisine Fusion Course Rice Prep Time 26-30 minutes Cook time 31-40 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Medium Others Veg Ingredients list for Pulao Khichdi 1 cup Rice soaked 1/4 cup Split green gram skinless (dhuli moong dal) 2 tablespoons Pure ghee 2 Bay leaves, torn 2-3 Cloves 6-8 large Cauliflower florets, cut into small pieces 1 1/2 medium Carrots, cut into 1 inch pieces 6 French beans, cut into 1 inch diamonds 1/4 cup Shelled green peas 2 Green chillies, slit to taste Salt 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder Method Dry roast the moong dal in a non stick kadai till brown. Heat the ghee in a pressure cooker. Add the bay leaves and cloves. Add the cauliflower, carrots and French beans and sauté till brownish in colour. Add the peas and mix well. Add the rice, green chillies, salt and turmeric powder. Mix well. Add the roasted dal and six cups of water. When the mixture comes to a boil, put the lid on and cook under pressure till pressure is released three to four times (three to four whistles).
