Ingredients list for Sitaphal Suji Kheer

  • 1 cup Custard apple (sitaphal) pulp
  • 1/2 cup Semolina (suji)
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • 750 millilitres Milk
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1/4 cup mawa / khoya grated
  • a pinch Green cardamom powder
  • Pistachios chopped 2 tablespoons + for garnishing

Method

  1. Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add semolina and roast till it turns light brown.
  2. Boil milk in another non-stick pan, add roasted semolina, mix and cook till semolina is cooked. Keep stirring continuously.
  3. Add sugar and keep stirring till the sugar is dissolved. Add the mawa / khoya, cook on low heat, stirring continuously for a minute. Switch off heat.
  4. Add cardamom powder, pistachios, custard apple pulp and mix well.
  5. Garnish with pistachios and serve warm.
