  • Boondi unsalted
    200 grams
  • Oil
    2 tablespoons
  • Cumin seeds
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Onions sliced
    2 medium
  • Ginger chopped
    1/2 inch piece
  • Garlic chopped
    5-6 cloves
  • Turmeric powder
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Coriander powder
    2 teaspoons
  • Cumin powder
    1 teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder
    1 1/2 teaspoons
  • Tomatoes grated
    3 medium
  • Salt
    to taste
  • Garam masala powder
    1/2 teaspoons
  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped
    2 tablespoons
  • Spring onion greens sliced
    2 stalks

Method

Step 1


Heat oil in pan and add cumin seeds. When they begin to change colour add sliced onions and sauté.Soak boondi in sufficient water.

Step 2


Add chopped ginger, garlic and sauté for a minute. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chilli powder and stir. Add grated tomatoes and continue to sauté for a few minutes.

Step 3


Drain the water from boondi.Cook the masala on high heat. Add salt, garam masala powder, chopped coriander leaves and boondi.

Step 4


Mix and cook on high heat for a minute.

Step 5


Garnish with sliced spring onion greens and serve hot.
