Ingredients list for College Sandwich

  • 8 White Bread Slices
  • Cauliflower
  • 1/2 small Cauliflower florets separated and blanched
  • 1/2 medium Carrot chopped and blanched
  • 4-5 French beans chopped and blanched
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 inch piece Ginger finely chopped
  • 1 small Onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 Green chilli finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 100 grams Bhuna masala
  • 2 medium Potatoes boiled, peeled and grated
  • 1/4 teaspoon Chaat masala
  • 1/2 cup Cheese grated
  • 4 tablespoons Butter

Method

  1. Drain and coarsely grind together cauliflower, carrot and French beans. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add ginger and sauté for a minute. Add onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add the ground vegetables and sauté for a minute. Add red chilli powder, green chilli and salt and mix well.
  3. Add bhuna masala and mix. Add potatoes, chaat masala and mix well. Transfer this mixture into a bowl.
  4. Place 4 bread slices on the work top. Divide the vegetable mixture into 4 parts. Place a portion of the mixture on each bread slice.
  5. Top it with cheese. Cover with the remaining bread slices.
  6. Apply ½ tbsp butter on each side of the sandwiches. Preheat a griller for 3-4 minutes. Place the sandwiches in the griller and grill for 3-4 minutes. Serve hot.
