This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 05 Dec 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Split Skinless Green Gram with Skin, Split Red Lentils Cuisine Indian Course Dals and Kadhis Prep Time 26-30 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Advertisment Ingredients list for Moong Masoor ki Dal 1 cup Split Skinless Green Gram with Skin soaked 1 cup Split Red Lentils soaked to taste Salt 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 1/2 teaspoons Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon Dried mango powder (amchur) 2-3 tablespoons Oil 1/4 teaspoon Asafoetida 1 tablespoon Garlic finely chopped 5-6 Dried red round chillies 1 medium Onion finely chopped 1 Green chilli finely chopped 1 medium Tomato finely chopped for garnishing Fresh coriander sprig Method Advertisment Put drained green gram and red lentils in a deep non-stick pan, add 3½-4 cups water, salt, turmeric powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder and dried mango powder and mix well. Cover and cook till green gram and red lentils are done. Heat oil in another non-stick pan, add asafoetida and garlic and sauté till the garlic is burnt. Add round red chillies and onion and sauté for half a minute. Add green chilli and remaining red chilli powder and mix well. Add tomato and mix well. Add this mixture to the cooked dal and mix well. Cook for a minute. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with a coriander sprig and serve hot.
