By Sanjeev Kapoor 23 Feb 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Split Bengal gram, Cottage cheese Cuisine Indian Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Paneer Chana Dal 1 cup Split Bengal gram 200 grams Cottage cheese 2 tablespoons Ghee to taste Salt 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder 2 tablespoons Sugar 1 tablespoon Lemon juice FOR THE MASALA 1 inch piece Cinnamon 3 Cloves 3 Black cardamoms 2-3 Black peppercorns 1 Bay leaf Method Roast all ingredients for dry masala and grind to a powder. Wash and soak chana dal for three to four hours. Cut paneer into half inch sized cubes. Heat ghee in a kadai and deep fry the paneer cubes till golden. Drain onto an absorbent paper. Heat two tablespoons ghee in a pan and add masala powder. After two minutes add the chana dal, salt, red chilli powder and turmeric powder. Add a little water and cook on medium heat. When the dal is cooked, add sugar and lemon juice and stir. Mix paneer pieces and serve warm.
