5 Energy boosting food for Navratri!

When not eating food for long hours, it is important that the few foods we consume give us enough energy to go through the rest of the day. Especially during navratri, when you also need to indulge in a good round of garba and dandiya! Here are 5 energy boosting recipes which are also vrat approved so you can dance the night away!

Recipes

Energy ke Laddoo

There is no dearth of sweets and mithais to be made during Navratri, but these laddoos are going to become a regular. 1. They are easy to make 2. They are deliciously addictive 3. They give you the much needed energy boost so you can garba the night away! Feel free to skip the cocoa powder coating – these will still taste great!

Rattalu Sabudana Ki Tikkiyan

Sweet potatoes are loaded with Vitamin B6, C and D, iron, zinc and magnesium. They provide you with plenty of fibre and energy. The insoluble fibre present in the skin produce roughage and the soluble fibers in the potato itself, slow down digestion, keeping you full and energetic for longer! Try this vrat approved shakkarkand and sabudana tikkis.

Date and Nut Rolls

One of the many physical benefits of eating dates during a fast is that our body benefits from the date's high level of natural sugars. Sugars travel most quickly to the liver, where they are converted into energy more quickly than any other nutrient. You can try this delicious date and rice kheer or alternatively these sweet rolls made with crunchy nuts and dates – absolutely no sugar too!

Muesli / Rajgira with Chia Seeds

Muesli for one is a healthy ingredient; mix it along with other super foods like chia seeds, sweetened hung yogurt, and nuts, berries and fruits of your choice. An energizing, healthy, fibrous, tasty and crunchy snack/ dessert is ready. If your fast doesn’t allow you to eat muesli you can easily replace it with popped rajgira – it will still be super high on energy and tasty too!

Kele aur Sabudana Ki Kheer

Bananas are also highly nutritious; they are one of the healthier natural sources of food. A medium-sized banana contains only 95 calories and provides a quick-but-sustained energy boost. Try this delicious Kele aur Sabudana ki kheer which is delicious and perfectly vrat approved!
