Easter is the perfect occasion to sit down with the entire family and bond over gorgeous food. Celebrating Easter, quarantined in our homes got us to do research on some extraordinary Easter egg recipes to try out. But first, some information.

Significance of Easter Eggs

Egg, as most nutritionists will agree, can be called as nature’s perfect food. During Easter, hard boiled or sweet confectionery eggs are dyed, painted, adorned and embellished in celebration of its special symbolism. With the advent of Christianity, the symbolism of the egg changed to represent not just nature’s rebirth, but the rebirth of all humankind. Christians likened it to the tomb from which Christ rose. Ornamental egg designers believed in this symbolism and began decorating it beautifully. Even fondant was used to make tonnes of shapes and eventually beautified.

Marzipan Easter Eggs

Marzipan is a classic ingredient to make Easter eggs. Make dough with almond paste and castor sugar, add in your favourite flavour or a natural food colour for more fun and a more flamboyant twist. Get egg shaped moulds which are very easily in the market, especially around Easter. All you need to do is fill them with your egg mix. Melt-in-the-mouth multi-coloured marzipan Easter eggs are ready, it’ll be a huge challenge to resist these!

Chocolate Easter Egg Pearl Cake

Again, not a very traditional recipe, but it’s going to be a regular feature on Easter (and otherwise also) once you try it. Not only is this cake decadent, but the chocolate pearls on top are almost like mini chocolate Easter eggs. A big slice of the cake and a big nap afterwards go hand-in-hand. You’re going to miss out on a masterpiece if you don’t try this one!
