Ingredients list for Coffee Mousse Canape

  • 2 teaspoons Instant coffee powder
  • as required Dark sponge cake
  • 1/2 cup Fresh cream
  • 1 cup White chocolate chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups Whipped cream
  • for garnish Fresh mint sprigs

Method

  1. Heat fresh cream in a non-stick pan till warm.
  2. Combine white chocolate and warm cream in a bowl and stir till the chocolate melts. Let the mixture cool down to room temperature.
  3. Mix coffee powder with one to two tablespoons water in a small bowl and heat it in the microwave for ten seconds. Remove from oven and cool it down to room temperature.
  4. Cut dark sponge into half horizontally and cut into different shapes with cookie cutters.
  5. Add coffee decoction to the chocolate mixture and mix. Fold in whipped cream.
  6. Put the mixture into a piping bag fitted with a star nozzle and pipe out rosettes over the dark sponge pieces.
  7. Garnish with mint sprigs and serve immediately.
