Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. And it would also interest you to know that the favourite popcorn, made by popping the small corn kernels, is a wholesome cereal food and is easily digested. Besides this, corn sees its use in various other ways – salads, soups, subzis and even sweets too!

Ingredients for Corn Sev Puri Recipe

  • Corn kernels blanched 1/2 cup

  • Savoury biscuits 16

  • Oil 1 teaspoon

  • Onions chopped 2 medium

  • Red chilli-garlic chutney 2 tablespoons

  • Sweet date and tamarind chutney 8-10 teaspoons

  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Sev 1 cup

  • Salt to taste

  • Green chutney 8-10 teaspoons

  • Red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Raw mango chopped 1 small

Method

Step 1

Heat oil in a pan, add onions and sauté till lightly browned. Add corn and continue to sauté for a minute or two. Add red chilli garlic chutney, sweet date and tamarind chutney and mix well.

Step 2

Remove from heat and add coriander leaves, half the sev and salt and mix well. Arrange four to five biscuits on a plate. Top the biscuits with the corn mixture. Drizzle half a teaspoon of green chutney over each biscuit. Cover up all the biscuits with ple

Similarly prepare the remaining sev puris and serve immediately.
