By Sanjeev Kapoor 16 Nov 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Cluster beans (gawar), Potatoes Cuisine Indian Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Advertisment Ingredients list for Gavar Aloo ki Sabzi 250 grams Cluster beans (gawar) stringed and cut into ½ inch pieces 2 medium Potatoes peeled and cut into ½ inch cubes 1 medium Onion chopped 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder 2 tablespoons Oil 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds a pinch Asafoetida 1 teaspoon Jaggery (gur) grated to taste Salt 2 tablespoons Fresh coconut scraped Method Advertisment Mix cluster beans, onion, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and cumin powder in a bowl. Heat oil in a non-stick pan and add mustard seeds. Once they start to splutter, add cumin seeds and asafoetida. When cumin seeds start to change colour, add cluster bean mixture-potatoes and mix well.Cover and cook for two to three minutes. Add jaggery and salt, cover and cook till the beans are tender and the potatoes are cooked. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot garnished with scraped coconut.
