This recipe is from FoodFood TV channel By Sanjeev Kapoor 28 Apr 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Dried Yellow Peas, Oil Cuisine Odia Course Main Course - Vegetarian Prep Time 21-25 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Ghugni 2 cups Dried Yellow Peas soaked and drained and boiled Oil 2 tablespoons Oil 1 medium Onion 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seeds 1 Bay leaf 1 teaspoon Ginger finely chopped 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 medium Tomato chopped 2 teaspoons Roasted cumin powder 1/4 cup Fresh coconut sliced to taste Salt 2 Green chillies slit 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder Method Heat oil in a non stick pan. Chop onion. Add cumin seeds, bay leaf and onion to the pan and sauté till lightly browned. Add ginger, turmeric powder, tomato and a little water and mix. Sauté till tomato becomes pulpy. Add peas and mix well. Add ¼ cup water and salt. Add cumin powder and coconut slices and mix well. Add green chillies, garam masala powder and mix. Cover and cook on medium heat for 5 minutes. Serve hot.
