Ingredients list for Lasooni Palak Pulao- Sk Khazana

  • 1 1/2 cups Basmati rice soaked for 15 minutes and drained
  • 2 tablespoons Garlic finely chopped
  • 2 cups Spinach leaves (palak) shredded
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • 5-6 Black peppercorns
  • 1/2 inch stick Cinnamon
  • 3-4 Cloves
  • 2 Green cardamoms
  • to taste Salt
  • for garnish Fried garlic
  • for garnish Fried spinach
  • to serve Boondi raita

Method

  1. Heat ghee in a deep non-stick pan, add black peppercorns, cinnamon, cloves, green cardamoms and garlic, mix well and sauté till it turns golden brown.
  2. Add rice and mix well. Add salt and 2½ cups water and mix well. Cover and cook till rice is almost cooked.
  3. Add spinach and mix with a light hand. . Cook for 1-2 minutes and take it off the heat.
  4. Transfer the rice into a serving bowl, garnish with fried garlic and fried spinach and serve hot with boondi raita.
