Ingredients list for Matra Chaat - SK Khazana

  • 1 cup Yellow dried peas (matra) soaked overnight
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 Medium onion chopped
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • to taste Black salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Dried mango powder
  • 1 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped

Method

  1. Drain the yellow dried peas and put into a pressure cooker, add salt, turmeric powder and 2 cups water and cook under pressure till 5 whistles are given out.
  2. Place the cooked peas in a bowl, add onion, green chillies, lemon juice, pepper powder, red chilli powder, black salt, dried mango powder and roasted cumin powder. Mix well.
  3. Transfer into 4 serving bowls, garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
