Indian food is also influenced by religious and cultural choices and traditions. 
Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Methi Pakora-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Fresh fenugreek leaves chopped 1 cup

  • Gram flour (besan) 1/2 cup

  • Yogurt 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh coriander leves chopped 1 teaspoon

  • Ginger-green chilli paste 1/2 tablespoon

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Baking soda a pinch

  • Sugar a pinch

  • Oil 1 tablespo to deep fry

  • Green chutney to serve

  • Tomato ketchup to serve

Method

Step 1

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.

Step 2

Take fenugreek leaves, yogurt, coriander leaves, ginger-green chilli paste, chilli powder, salt, turmeric powder, baking soda and sugar in a bowl and mix well.

Step 3

Add 1 tablespoon oil, gram flour and a little water and mix well to make a batter of dropping consistency.

Step 4

Drop in portions of the batter and deep-fry till golden brown. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 5

Serve hot with green chutney and tomato ketchup.
