Ingredients list for Pineapple Aur Bread Ka Halwa

  • 1 medium Pineapple peeled
  • 8 slices Bread Slices
  • 4 tablespoons Ghee
  • 8-10 Cashewnuts finely chopped
  • 8-10 Walnuts finely chopped
  • 8-10 Pistachios finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon Raisins
  • 5 tablespoons Sugar
  • a few strands Saffron (kesar)
  • a pinch Green cardamom powder
  • 1/2 cup Khoya/mawa

Method

  1. Core the pineapple and cut 5-6 slices. Cut the remaining pineapple into small pieces and set aside.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp ghee in a non stick pan. Place the pineapple slices in the pan and cook till they caramelize. Trim the sides of the bread slices and cut into small pieces.

  4. Transfer the caramelized pineapple slices into a plate and set aside.Add the bread pieces to the pan and sauté in the remaining ghee for 1-2 minutes or till slightly crisp. Then add 2 more tbsps ghee and sauté for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Transfer the bread pieces into a plate and keep aside.
  6. Add the remaining ghee to the same pan. Add cashewnuts, walnuts, pistachios, raisins, sugar, saffron, green cardamom powder and mix well.
  7. Add chopped pineapple pieces and cook till they become transparent.
  8. Add bread pieces and mix. Add khoya and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Transfer the halwa onto a serving plate. Garnish with the caramelized pineapple slices and pistachios and serve.
