Ingredients list for Prawns Pepper Fry

  • 20-25 Prawns cleaned and deveined
  • 2-3 teaspoons Black peppercorns crushed
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 Large onion sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger finely chopped
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic finely chopped
  • 12-14 Curry leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Tata Sampann Coriander Powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped
  • 4 teaspoons Tamarind pulp
  • 3 tablespoons Coconut scraped
  • 1 Butter cut into small cube

Method

  1. Heat oil in a shallow non-stick pan, add onion, ginger, garlic and curry leaves, mix and saute on high heat for 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and Tata Sampann Coriander Powder, mix well and saute for 2 minutes.
  3. Add prawns and salt and toss well. Add 2 tsps crushed black peppercorns and coriander leaves and mix well. Cook for 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add tamarind pulp, coconut and remaining crushed black peppercorns, mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  5. Take the pan off the heat and transfer into a serving bowl.
  6. Serve hot.
