Ingredients list for Surti Papdi Pulao

  • 1/2 cup Surti Papdi broken into 2 pieces
  • 1 cup Rice
  • 1 1/2 cups Rice soaked and drained
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • 1 inch Cinnamon stick
  • 5-6 Cloves
  • 1 inch Ginger finely chopped
  • 2-3 Green chillies
  • to taste Salt
  • Juice of ¼ lemon

  1. Heat ghee in a non-stick kadai, add cinnamon, cloves and ginger. Slit green chillies and add and sauté till fragrant.
  2. Add surti papdi, surti papdi dane, rice, salt, lemon juice and 3 cups water and mix well.
  3. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes or till rice is cooked.
  4. Transfer onto a serving plate and serve hot.
