Super healthy, cabbage goes a long way back. In ancient times, the Greeks treated it as a special food for its many medicinal properties. There are tales about raw cabbage juice being a standard treatment for a nasty hangover! Salads, dals, sabzis, pickles and even raitas, cabbage does full justice to each preparation. Shop for the ones that have a crisp, shiny look to it.

Ingredients for Warm Cabbage Salad- SK Khazana Recipe

  • Purple cabbage small, shredded 1

  • Butter 2 teaspoons

  • Onion medium, sliced 1

  • Apple cut into thin strips 1

  • Salt to taste

  • Vinegar 1 teaspoon

  • Sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons

  • Raisins 2 1/2 tablespoons

  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste

Method

Step 1

Heat butter in a non-stick pan, add onion and sauté till translucent. Add cabbage, mix and sauté for 1-2 minutes.

Step 2

Add apple, mix well and saute for 1-2 minutes. Add salt, vinegar, sugar, raisins and crushed black peppercorns and mix well. Sauté for 1 minute.

Step 3

Transfer into a serving bowl and serve warm.
