Chilli Lemon Prawns

These prawns sautéed in fiery chilli mixture and then mixed with lemon and honey is all that you need for a quick and unique appetiser. This is Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients

  • 15-18 medium prawns, peeled, cleaned and deveined
  • 1½ teaspoons red chilli paste
  • ½ tablespoon red chilli flakes
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped garlic
  • 2-3 green chillies, chopped
  • 2 spring onion bulbs, finely chopped
  • 1½ tablespoons chopped fresh coriander leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tablespoon tomato ketchup 
  • 2 tablespoons diagonally sliced spring onion greens + for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon honey

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick wok, add garlic, mix and saute for 1 minute. 
  2. Add green chillies, mix and saute till golden brown. Add spring onion bulbs, mix and saute for 1-2 minutes.
  3. Add red chilli paste, mix and saute for 1-2 minutes.
  4. Add red chilli flakes and coriander leaves, mix and saute for 1 minute. Add prawns and salt and cook on high heat for 3-4 minutes. 
  5. Add tomato ketchup and mix well. Cook for 1-2 minutes. 
  6. Add spring onion green, mix and saute for 1-2 minutes.  
  7. Switch the heat off, add lime juice and honey and mix well. Transfer into a serving bowl, garnish with spring onion greens and serve hot.
