Ingredients list for Besan Omelette

  • 1 1/2 cups Gram flour (besan)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
  • 1-2 Green chillies finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 1 Medium tomato finely chopped
  • 1 Onion finely chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain)
  • for cooking Oil
  • to serve Tomato ketchup

Method

  1. Whisk together gram flour, turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander powder, green chillies, cumin powder, tomato, onion and salt with sufficient water to make a batter. Add carom seeds and whisk well.
  2. Heat some oil in a non-stick pan. Pour a ladleful of batter on it, spread into a disc and cook, turning sides, till well browned on both sides. Make more omelettes similarly.
  3. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
