Ingredients list for Caesar’s Salad

  • 2 Iceberg lettuce
  • Bread slices
  • 100 grams Parmesan cheese shaved or grated
  • 2 cloves Garlic peeled and crushed
  • 1/2 bunch Iceberg lettuce
  • 1/2 bunch Lollorosso lettuce
  • 5-6 leaves Basil leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • FOR THE DRESSING
  • 2 Bread
  • 1 teaspoon French mustard paste
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Extra virgin olive oil
  • to taste Salt
  • 3-4 Black peppercorns crushed

  1. Cut the bread slices into one inch pieces.
  2. Heat the oil in a pan and add the garlic.
  3. Add the bread cubes and sauté till slightly crisp and browned at the edges. Remove and set aside. Wash and tear the lettuce leaves roughly and place in a large bowl.
  4. Tear basil leaves and add to the lettuce. Add the cheese shavings or grated cheese.
  5. Boil sufficient water in a pan, add eggs and boil them for two to three minutes only. Break the lightly boiled eggs into another bowl and whisk well.
  6. Add mustard paste, Worcestershire sauce, olive oil, salt and freshly crushed black peppercorns and whisk till well blended. Add the fried bread and toss lightly. Pour the dressing over the salad and toss lightly.
  7. Serve immediately.
