Ingredients list for Chapatti Upma

  • 3 cups Chapatis hand torn
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 4-5 Curry leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
  • 2-3 Green chillies chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • a pinch Asafoetida
  • 3/4 cup Onion chopped
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Heat oil in non stick pan add curry leaves, cumin seeds and mustard seeds.
  2. When mustard seeds starts spluttering add urad dal and saute for a minute.Add green chillies, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida and salt and saute for a minute.
  3. Add onions and saute till light brown.Add chapatis and saute for a minute.Serve hot garnished with chopped coriander leaves.
