By Sanjeev Kapoor 24 Nov 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Green peas, Cumin seeds Cuisine Punjabi Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 0-5 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Chaunka Matar 2 cups Green peas 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds 2 tablespoons Oil 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds 1 inch Ginger chopped 1 Green chilli chopped 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder ¼ teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon Coriander powder to taste Salt ½ teaspoon Garam masala powder Juice of 1 lemon 2 tablespoons Fresh coriander leaves chopped for garnishing Ginger juliennes Method Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and when the seeds change colour, add ginger and green chilli and sauté well. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, mix well and sauté for ½ a minute. Add green peas and toss to mix. Cook till the green peas are tender. Add salt, garam masala powder and mix well. Add lemon juice and chopped coriander and mix well.
