Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Chicken With Walnuts Recipe

  • Chicken breast 4

  • Spinach chopped 1 medium

  • Tomato chopped 4 medium

  • Olive oil 3 tablespoons

  • Button mushrooms sliced 8-10 medium

  • Onions chopped 2 medium

  • Garlic chopped 5-6 cloves

  • Salt

  • White pepper powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Curry powder 2 teaspoons


Step 1

Mix the egg, four tablespoons of cornflour, salt, one tablespoon soy sauce. Add the chicken pieces and set aside for half an hour. Mix the remaining cornflour in one cup of water.

Step 2

Boil the walnut kernels in sufficient water for two minutes. Drain and spread on absorbent paper to dry.

Step 3

Heat sufficient oil in a wok and deep-fry marinated chicken for two to three minutes. Drain on absorbent paper. Heat three tablespoons oil in a wok.

Step 4

Add the garlic and red chillies and stir fry for half a minute. Add the onion, celery, button mushrooms, walnut kernels and continue to stir fry for a couple of minutes.

Step 5

Add the remaining soy sauce, sugar, MSG, chicken stock and salt. Bring the mixture to a boil and stir in the cornflour mixture. Cook on medium heat for a minute or until the sauce starts to thicken, stirring continuously.

Step 6

Add the fried chicken, all the capsicum pieces and continue to cook for a couple of minutes on high heat, tossing and turning continuously.

Step 7

Transfer into a warm platter and serve hot.
