Chickpea Pizza The base of this pizza is made with chickpea flour, definitely a healthier version of the conventional pizza base This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe. By Sanjeev Kapoor 23 Mar 2021 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Chickpea bread, Chickpea flour (besan) Cuisine Fusion Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 1.30-2 hour Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Chickpea Pizza Chickpea bread 2 cups Chickpea flour (besan) to taste Salt 1/4 cup + for drizzling Olive oil Toppings to brush Olive oil 2 Medium tomatoes 200 grams Bocconcini cheese as required Pizza sauce to sprinkle Fresh basil leaves to sprinkle Black peppercorns crushed Method Preheat the oven to 180˚C. Take chickpea flour in a bowl, add salt, oil and 4 cups water and whisk well. For each portion, take a non-stick skillet and drizzle a little oil in it and spread evenly. Place the skillet in the preheated oven for 5-10 minutes to heat up. Take the skillet out of the oven, strain ½ the mixture in it and place it back in the oven to bake for 20-25 minutes. Meanwhile slice tomatoes and the Bocconcini cheese into roundels. Bring the skillet out of the oven, brush a little olive oil on the surface, apply some pizza sauce and spread it evenly. Place the tomato slices and Bocconcini cheese slices alternately till the entire surface is covered. Sprinkle a few basil leaves and crushed black peppercorns, keep the skillet back in the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes. Take the skillet out of the oven, cut the pizza into wedges and serve hot.
