Ingredients list for Chilli Chutney

  • 3 Red Chillies whole dry
  • 1 large Onion roughly chopped
  • 1 small ball Tamarind
  • 2 medium Tomatoes roughly chopped
  • to taste Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
  • 8-10 Curry leaves

Method

  1. Grind in whole red chillies, onion, tamarind, tomatoes and salt to a thick paste. Heat oil in a frying pan add mustard seeds and urad dal and cook until dal turns golden brown.
  2. Add curry leaves and the prepared paste and sauté for a couple of minutes. Cool and store in the refrigerator.
