Favourite seafood? Prawns, prawns and more of prawns. A wide variety of small crustaceans, tiny relatives of the lobster, are known as prawns. Prawns are normally translucent when raw but get their distinctive pink or red colour on being cooked. one word of caution – if buying unpeeled prawns, smell for freshness and look for bright, shiny shells that have some spring left in them.

Ingredients for Chimichuri Prawns-SK Khazana Recipe

  • Medium prawns shelled and deveined 250 grams

  • Fresh coriander leaves a handful

  • Fresh parsley sprigs a few

  • Garlic cloves 5

  • White wine vinegar 3-4 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Olive oil 1/4 cup + tablespoons

  • Lemon juice 1/2 tablespoon

  • Red chilli flakes a pinch + to sprinkle

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste


Step 1

Blend together coriander leaves, parsley, garlic, white wine vinegar, salt, ¼ cup olive oil and lemon juice to a paste.

Step 2

Heat remaining olive oil in a non-stick pan. Add prawns and toss till they begin to change colour. Add prepared paste and mix well.

Step 3

Add a pinch of red chilli flakes, crushed peppercorns and salt, mix well and cook till fully done.

Step 4

Sprinkle some chilli flakes and serve hot.
