Ingredients list for Chocolate Marquise

  • 450 grams Dark chocolate
  • 24 Sugar coated biscuits
  • 1 1/2 cups Butter
  • 1 1/3 cups Icing sugar
  • 7 Egg yolks

Method

  1. Place chocolate in a bowl and place the bowl over water kept boiling in a deep non-stick pan.
  2. Add 6 tbsps water and let the chocolate melt, stirring occasionally. Crush 18 biscuits.
  3. Once the chocolate melts, add butter and mix. Sift icing sugar into it and stir continuously till all the ingredients blend completely.
  4. Whisk 3 egg yolks, add and mix well. Add crushed biscuits and remaining egg yolks and mix well.
  5. Line base of the silicone mould with a single layer of remaining biscuits.
  6. Pour the chocolate mixture over and level the top by thumping the mould gently on the table top.
  7. Place mould in a refrigerator (not freezer) and allow it to set for 3-4 hours.
  8. Demould, cut into slices and serve.
