Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. And it would also interest you to know that the favourite popcorn, made by popping the small corn kernels, is a wholesome cereal food and is easily digested. Besides this, corn sees its use in various other ways – salads, soups, subzis and even sweets too!

Cook time : 6-10 minutes

Ingredients for Corn Capsicum Tikki Recipe

  • Sweet corn kernels coarsely crushed 1 cup

  • Capsicum finely chopped 5 tablespoons

  • Raw bananas boiled 2

  • Green chilli paste 2 tablespoons

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Sugar 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Bread crumbs for coating

  • Oil to deep fry

Method

Step 1

Combine all the ingredients, except the bread crumbs, in a bowl and mix well.

Step 2

Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into small round flat tikkis. Roll each tikki into bread crumbs so that they are evenly coated from all the sides.

Step 3

Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep fry each tikki, till they turn golden brown and crisp from all the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper and serve hot.
