By Sanjeev Kapoor 24 Aug 2019 in Recipes Course New Update Advertisment Main Ingredients Large onions, Gram flour Cuisine Indian Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 16-20 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Desi Onion Rings - SK Khazana 4 Large onions 1 cup Gram flour 2 tablespoons Rice flour 1 tablespoon Coriander powder 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder 1/2 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon Chaat masala to taste Salt 1 pinches Baking soda to deep fry Oil for coating Refined flour to serve Vada pav chutney Method Peel onions and cut into thick rings, separate the layers, and keep the rings in iced water. Take gram flour in a bowl, add rice flour, coriander powder, cumin powder, red chili powder, turmeric, chaat masala powder, salt, baking soda and sufficient water and whisk well to make a thick and smooth batter. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Dry soaked onion rings on an absorbent paper. Spread refined flour on a plate, coat onion rings with it and keep on a plate. Dip the onion rings in the gram flour batter, slide into hot oil and deep-fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
