By Sanjeev Kapoor 13 Apr 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Brown rice, Oregano Cuisine Fusion Course Rice Prep Time 1.30-2 hour Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Advertisment Ingredients list for Herbed Spring Onion Rice 1 1/2 cups Brown rice 1 teaspoon Oregano 4 stalks Spring onions with greens 2 tablespoons Olive oil 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds 1 inch stalk Celery to taste Salt 2 Green chillies slit Method Advertisment Soak brown rice in four to five cups of water for one hour. Drain and set aside. Chop spring onion bulbs. Chop greens and set aside for garnishing. Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and sauté till they begin to change colour. Add spring onions and celery and sauté till translucent. Add drained rice and salt and sauté for one to two minutes. Add four and a half cups of water. Bring to a boil. Add green chillies, reduce heat, cover and allow to cook. Add dried oregano when rice is nearly done. Continue to cook till rice is fully done. Serve hot.
