Konkani Calamari Dry Squid curry made the Konkani way flavoured with sambhar powder. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe. By Sanjeev Kapoor 21 Feb 2017 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Squids, Scraped coconut Cuisine Goan Course Main Course Seafood Prep Time 0-5 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Konkani Calamari Dry 4-5 large Squids squids 1/2 cup Scraped coconut 1 medium Onion finely chopped 1 medium Tomato finely chopped 1 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste 1/2 teaspoon Sambhar powder 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder 2-3 Cloves 1/2 inch Cinnamon stick 5-6 Black peppercorns 1 inch piece Ginger to taste Salt 2 tablespoons Oil 1 teaspoon Lemon juice A sprig of coriander for garnish Method Take calamari in a large bowl. Add salt and turmeric and keep aside for 10-15 minutes to marinate. Heat oil in a nonstick pan. Add cloves, black peppercorns, cinnamon and half the chopped onions and sauté till golden brown. Add coconut and sauté for 2 minutes. Cool and grind to a fine paste. Add some water if required. Heat remaining oil in a nonstick pan. Add onions and sauté till golden brown in colour. Add ginger garlic paste and mix. Add tomatoes and salt and sauté for 2 minutes. Add calamari and mix. Add sambhar powder, red chilli powder and garam masala and mix. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes. Add ground masala and mix well. Cover and cook for 5–10 minutes or till squids are well cooked. Add lemon juice and mix well. Garnish with coriander and serve hot.
