Ingredients for Makai Pizza Recipe

  • Maize Flour 1/2 cup

  • Wheat Flour 1 cup + for dusting

  • Salt to taste

  • Black pepper powder 1 teaspoon

  • Carom seeds (ajwain) 1/2 teaspoon

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon

  • Oregano 1 teaspoon

  • Eggless mayonnaise 3 tablespoons

  • Sliced olives 1 tablespoon

  • Red capsicum finely chopped 1 small

  • Sweet corn kernels boiled 4 tablespoons

  • Cottage cheese (paneer) grated 4 tablespoons

  • Tomato ketchup for serving


Step 1

Mix maize flour, wheat flour, salt, black pepper powder and carom seeds in a bowl. Add sufficient water and knead into soft dough. Add oil and knead again.

Step 2

Divide pizza dough into four equal portions. Dust a worktop with wheat flour and place a portion on it, flatten a little and roll out into a bhakri.

Step 3

Heat non-stick tawa, place a bhakri on it and cook, flipping, till both sides are crisp and evenly done. Remove from the tawa and cool down to room temperature. Cook the remaining bhakri similarly.

Step 4

Add half teaspoon red chilli flakes, half teaspoon oregano and black pepper powder in the mayonnaise and mix well.

Step 5

Spread a portion of mayonnaise mixture on each pizza base, place some olives, red capsicum, sweet corn, cottage cheese and the remaining red chilli flakes and oregano.

Step 6

Heat the non-stick tawa, place the pizza on it, cover and cook for five to ten minutes.

Step 7

Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
