Ingredients list for Mirchi Mutton

  • 500 grams Boneless mutton cut into medium sized pieces
  • 2-3 Banarasi red chilli pickle pieces
  • 10-12 Green chillies
  • 2 tablespoons Filtered mustard oil
  • 6-7 Cloves
  • 6 Green cardamoms
  • 1 teaspoon Black peppercorns
  • 2 medium Onions finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Banarasi red chilli pickle masala

Method

  1. Heat mustard oil in a deep non-stick pan till it begins to smoke.
  2. Roughly chop red chilli pickle pieces.
  3. Reduce heat under the pan, add cloves, cardamoms, peppercorns and onions and sauté for ½ minute.
  4. Add mutton, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt and green chillies and mix well.
  5. Add pickle masala and chopped pickle pieces and mix well.
  6. Add 2 cups water and let the mixture boil. Cover and cook on low heat till the mutton is fully cooked.
  7. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
