Ingredients list for Mozzarella Sticks

  • 400 grams Mozzarella cheese , cut into thick fingers
  • to deep fry Oil
  • 1/2 cup Refined flour (maida)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Black peppercorns , crushed
  • 1/2 cup Cornflakes , crushed
  • 1/2 cup Panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Fresh mixed herbs , chopped
  • 2 Eggs
  • to serve Tomato ketchup

Method

  1. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
  2. Mix together refined flour, onion powder, garlic powder, salt and crushed peppercorns on a plate.
  3. Mix together cornflakes, panko breadcrumbs, fresh mixed herbs, salt and crushed peppercorns on another plate.
  4. Break eggs into a bowl, add salt and crushed peppercorns and beat well.
  5. Coat mozzarella fingers in flour mixture, dip in beaten egg mixture, coat with cornflakes mixture and keep on a plate.
  6. Gently slide the mozzarella fingers into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
  7. Arrange them on a serving platter and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
