Ingredients list for Pepper Chilli Chicken With Honey

  • 500 grams Boneless Chicken 1 inch cubes
  • 2 tablespoons Egg
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/2 cup Cornflour/ corn starch
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 4-6 Red chillies
  • 1 tablespoon Vinegar
  • 7-8 cloves Garlic chopped
  • 3 Spring onions chopped
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • a pinch MSG
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • 2 tablespoons Honey
  • 2 medium Capsicum deseed and julienne
  • 2 teaspoons Sesame seeds (black) roasted

Method

  1. Marinate the chicken cubes in a mixture of one tablespoon soya sauce, salt, egg and one tablespoon cornstarch for ten minutes.
  2. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep fry chicken in hot oil till light brown. Drain onto an absorbent paper and keep aside. Grind red chillies with vinegar. Keep aside. Heat one tablespoon oil in a wok. Add garlic, spring onions and green chillies and stir fry for a few seconds.
  3. Add remaining soya sauce and mix. Add MSG, sugar, pepper powder and prepared red chilli paste. Add one cup of water and stir. Add fried chicken pieces and mix well. Add remaining cornstarch, after dissolving it in water. Stir in honey. Add capsicum julienne and mix.
  4. Sprinkle roasted sesame seeds and serve hot with your choice of rice or noodle dish.
