Ingredients list for Poha Kheer -SK Khazana

  • 1/2 cup Red rice poha
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Ghee
  • 10-12 Cashewnuts
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons Raisins
  • 4 cups Milk
  • 3/4 cup Sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
  • 1 teaspoon Rose water
  • A few dried rose petals

Method

  1. Heat ghee in a non-stick deep pan, add cashew nuts and sauté for a few seconds. Add raisins and sauté till it puffs up. Take them out and set aside.
  2. In the same pan, add red rice poha and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Slightly crush the poha with the spoon to smaller pieces.
  3. Add milk and mix well. Let the mixture come to a boil. Lower the heat and cook till the poha is cooked completely.
  4. Add sugar and mix well. Add green cardamom powder and mix well. Cook till the sugar is dissolved.
  5. Add rose water, dried rose petals, a portion of the fried cashew nuts and raisins. Mix well and take it off the heat.
  6. Transfer into a serving bowl and serve garnished with rose petals.
