Ingredients for Spiced Chocolate Cookies Recipe

  • Refined flour (maida) 1½ cups

  • Red chilli powder 2 teaspoons

  • Cinnamon powder ½ teaspoon

  • Dark chocolate melted 1 cup

  • dark chocolate chips ¼ cup

  • brown sugar/jaggery 1 cup

  • Castor sugar (caster sugar) ½ cup

  • Butter softened 114 grams

  • Eggs 2

  • Baking soda ½ teaspoon

  • Cocoa powder ½ cup

  • Icing sugar for dusting

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven to 180° C. Line a baking tray with a silicon mat.

Step 2

Combine brown sugar, castor sugar and butter in a bowl and whisk well with an electric beater.

Step 3

Break in eggs and whisk. Add melted dark chocolate and whisk well.

Step 4

Sieve together flour, chilli powder, baking soda, cinnamon powder and cocoa powder into the mixture and whisk. Add chocolate chips and whisk well.

Step 5

Fill a piping bag with this mixture and pipe out cookies on the lined baking tray.

Step 6

Place the baking tray in preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes. Remove from oven and cool.

Step 7

Dust some icing sugar on top and serve.
