Spinach Rice Rice cooked with spinach, carrot and whole garam masala in microwave By Sanjeev Kapoor 04 Aug 2014 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Spinach, Rice Cuisine Indian Course Rice Prep Time 6-10 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Spinach Rice 2 cups Spinach chopped 3 tablespoons Rice 1 teaspoon Fennel seeds (saunf) 2 Black cardamom 1 inch stick Cinnamon 2 Cloves 1 medium Onion sliced 1 medium Carrot grated 1/4 teaspoon Red chilli powder 1 cup Basmati rice soaked to taste Salt 1 teaspoon Lemon juice Method In a microwave bowl add ghee, saunf, black cardamoms, cinnamons and cloves. Cook on high uncovered for two minutes. Mix well. Add onions and micro on high uncovered for two min. Add spinach, carrots and red chilli powder and micro for two minutes. Add rice, salt and two cups of water. Mix gently. Micro on high uncovered for eight minutes. And then cover & cook for two minute. Add lemon juice and stir it and micro on medium for two minutes.
