  • Processed cheese grated
    3 tablespoons
  • Corn kernels tinned
    1 cup
  • Butter
    2 tablespoons
  • Refined flour (maida)
    2 tablespoons
  • Milk
    1 cup
  • Green chillies finely chopped
    1 tablespoon
  • Salt
    to taste
  • Black pepper powder
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Cooked rice
    1 cup
  • Fresh coriander leaves
    a few sprigs
  • Fresh bread crumbs
    2 tablespo
  • Oil
    to deep fry
  • Cheese slice
    1
  • Tomato ketchup
    as required

Method

Step 1


Heat butter in a non stick pan. Add refined flour and saute for 1 minute. Add milk and whisk well so that there are no lumps. Switch off the heat and add cheese and mix. Drain corn kernels and add and mix well.

Step 2


Add green chillies, little salt, black pepper powder and mix. Mash cooked rice and add. Chop a few sprigs fresh coriander leaves and add. Add 2 tbsps fresh bread crumbs and mix well and let it cool.

Step 3


Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Spread a little breadcrumbs in a plate Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into balls.

Step 4


Roll them in bread crumbs and deep-fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 5


Arrange them on a serving plate. Cut a cheese slice into small triangles and place one on each cheese ball. Garnish with a little chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
