Curried Fish and Chips Basa fish fillets marinated with Madras curry powder and other ingredients, deep fried and served with tartar sauce. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe. By Sanjeev Kapoor 24 Feb 2017 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Fish fillets, Potatoes Cuisine Fusion Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 21-25 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Curried Fish and Chips 2 Fish fillets basa, cut into 2 pieces 3-4 medium Potatoes cut into fingers 1 teaspoon Madras curry powder 1 tablespoon Lemon juice to taste Salt to taste Crushed black peppercorns 1 teaspoon Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon Dried mixed herbs for deep-frying Oil drizzling + ½ cup Refined flour (maida) 1 Egg 1 cup Bread crumbs dried to serve Tartar sauce Method Preheat oven to 180° C. Take fish fillets on a plate. Add lemon juice, salt and Madras curry powder and mix. To prepare chips, spread potato fingers on a baking tray. Sprinkle salt, crushed peppercorns, chili flakes and dried mixed herbs on top. Drizzle some oil on top and mix well. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. Heat sufficient oil in a pan. Spread flour in a shallow plate. Beat egg in another shallow plate. Spread breadcrumbs on a third plate. Dust each marinated fish fillet with flour, dip in beaten egg and coat with bread crumbs. Deep-fry these fish fillets in the hot oil till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
