By Sanjeev Kapoor 16 Nov 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Mackerel, Turmeric powder Cuisine Goan Course Main Course Seafood Prep Time 0-5 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Easy Others Non Veg Ingredients list for Goan Mackerel Curry 3 Mackerel fish, cut into halves 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder to taste Salt 1 tablespoon Vinegar 1/2 inch Cinnamon 1 tablespoon Cumin seeds 4-5 Black peppercorns 3-4 Cloves 3-4 Dried red chillies 1 inch Ginger 5-6 Garlic cloves 1 tablespoon Oil 6-7 Curry leaves 1 medium Onion chopped a pinch Sugar Method Take fish in a bowl. Add turmeric powder and salt, mix well and set aside. Grind together vinegar, cinnamon, cumin seeds, peppercorns, cloves, red chillies, ginger and garlic along with some water into a fine paste. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add curry leaves and onion, mix and sauté till onion turns golden. Add the prepared paste, mix and sauté till fragrant. Add 1 cup water, mix and bring to boil. Add fish, mix lightly and cook on low heat for 5 minutes. Add sugar, mix and cook for a minute. Serve hot.
