Ingredients list for Dark Chocolate And Banana Cake

  • 1 cup Cocoa powder
  • 4 Banana chopped
  • 1 cup Refined flour (maida)
  • 3 grams Baking powder
  • 3 grams Baking soda
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 cup Castor sugar (caster sugar)
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 2 tablespoons Rum
  • 1 cup Clarified butter
  • 60 grams Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 cup Whipped cream (with sugar)

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  2. Sieve together maida, cocoa powder, baking powder and baking soda in a bowl. In another bowl, whisk together eggs and castor sugar. Whisk till the mixture becomes light, fluffy and creamy.
  3. Add milk and 1 tbsp rum and whisk well. Add clarified butter and whisk. Slowly add the maida and cocoa powder mixture and whisk well. Cover the lower portion of a loose bottom cake tin with an aluminium foil.
  4. Pour the batter into the cake tin. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-20 minutes. Take it out of the oven and set aside to cool for a while. Melt butter in a non-stick pan. Then add brown sugar and cook till the sugar becomes soft.
  5. Add remaining rum and banana pieces and cook till the banana pieces become soft. Cut the cake into two pieces horizontally. Place the lower half of the cake in a plate and spread half the whipped cream and half the banana sauce over it. Place the other h
