By Sanjeev Kapoor 22 Sep 2015 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Dates, Tamarind Pulp Cuisine Fusion Course Pickles, Jams and Chutneys Prep Time 11-15 minutes Cook time 26-30 minutes Serve 4 Taste Tangy Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients list for Sweet Date And Tamarind Chutney 15-20 Dates 1 cup Tamarind Pulp 2 teaspoon Cumin seeds 1/4 teaspoon Fennel seeds (saunf) 1/2 cup Jaggery (gur) grated 2 teaspoons Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon Dry ginger powder (soonth) 1 teaspoon Black salt (kala namak) to taste Salt Method Wash and stone dates and chop roughly. Dry roast cumin seeds and fennel seeds. Cool slightly and grind to a powder. Mix together dates, jaggery, tamarind pulp, cumin and fennel powder, red chilli powder, dry ginger powder, black salt, salt to taste and one cup of water. Cook on medium heat till it comes to a boil, reduce heat and continue to cook for six to eight minutes. Cool and serve.
