Pineapple Mango Sasam A much loved pineapple-mango preparation – often prepared in most Saraswat homes. Here’s an awesome Konkani savoury dish that will surely get you drooling! By Sanjeev Kapoor 31 Mar 2017 in Recipes Veg New Update Pineapple Mango Sasam Main Ingredients Pineapple, Ripe mango Cuisine Karnataka, , , , Course Main Course Vegetarian Prep Time 6-10 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Sweet & Sour Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients 1 small pineapple, peeled and cut into ½ inch cubes 1 medium ripe mango, peeled and cut into ½ inch cubes 2 tablespoons oil 5 dried red chillies 1/2 cup freshly scraped coconut 1 1/2 teaspoons mustard seeds 1 tablespoon grated jaggery (gur) 1 teaspoon tamarind pulp Salt to taste 5-6 curry leaves A pinch of asafoetida Method Heat one tablespoon oil in a non-stick pan, add red chillies and saute for a few seconds.Drain. Put them in a mixer jar, add coconut, half teaspoon mustard seeds, one fourth cup water and grind to a smooth paste. Remove and set aside. Put pineapple, mango, jaggery, tamarind pulp and salt in a serving bowl and mix well. Add the ground paste to the fruit mixture along withthree tablespoons water. Mix well and set aside for ten minutes. Heat one tablespoon oil in a smallnon-stick pan, add remaining mustard seeds, curry leaves and asafoetida and once the mustard seeds splutter, add it to the mixture. Mix well. Cover and set aside for about five minutes. Serve.
