Chatpate Kand Fritters

  • Purple Yam (kand) peeled cut into 1 inch thick strips
    2 1/2 cups
  • Oil
    2 tablespoons
  • Black salt (kala namak)
    1/4 teaspoon
  • Salt
    to taste
  • Red chilli powder
    1/2 teaspoon
  • Chaat masala
    1 teaspoon


Step 1

Heat sufficient water in a deep non-stick pan and blanch the purple yam. Drain.

Step 2

Heat oil in another non-stick pan, add the purple yam and sauté for two minutes on medium heat.

Step 3

Add the black salt, salt, red chilli powder, chaat masala, mix well and cook on a medium heat for eight to ten minutes or till the purple yam turns to golden brown in colour.

Step 4

Serve immediately.
