  • Tomatoes roughly chopped
    4 large
  • Ginger peeled
    2 inch piece
  • Oil
    2 teaspoon
  • Onion chopped
    1 medium
  • Sesame seeds (til) roasted and powdered
    1 tablespoon
  • Peanuts roasted and powdered
    1 tablespoon
  • Cumin powder
    1 teaspoon
  • Red chilli powder
    2 teaspoons
  • Jaggery (gur) grated
    1 teaspoon
  • Salt
    to taste


Step 1

Heat oil in a pan. Add tomatoes, ginger and onion. Cook on medium heat till the mixture become brown and homogenous. This may take round twenty minutes. Let cool. Add sesame, peanut, cumin and red chilli powder. Grind with jaggery and salt. Store in an airtight bottle to use as required.
